Motown's Most Famous Auto Show

The largest and most notable automotive event on the continent, the North American International Auto Show hits Detroit in January 2009.

The public can view more than 700 innovative vehicles on display from January 17 through January 25 at The Motor City’s Cobo Center. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children ages seven to 12 (ages six and under are free) and senior citizens (ages 65 and older). To attend the black-tie Charity Preview on January 16, you’ll have to pony up $400―$390 of which is tax deductible.

More than 700,000 attendees are expected to swarm the city for this event, so nab a hotel near the Center ASAP.

GM Recalls Nearly 300,000 Chevrolet HHR Vehicles

Beginning in November, GM is recalling 296,422 MY 2006-2008 Chevrolet HHR vehicles due to failed compliance with head-impact protection requirements set by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 201. Apparently the door on one of the vehicle's storage bins fails to remain closed which could lead to injury. Therefore, the carmaker is making available a redesigned latch.
